Chibuzo Emeka (CB)
Born and raised in San Francisco, California Chibuzo has played basketball since the 5th grade. Lettering in 3 sports at Raoul Wallenberg high school, he also played 3 years of varsity basketball underneath coach Pat Mulligan. Thereafter played 2 years at CCSF losing and winning in a Junior College State Championship. He is currently going into his 5th year with the MRC Rebels program coaching multiple teams. He loves the game of basketball, and seeks to pass on the knowledge to the next generation of athletes playing sports.
Phil Shell began playing organized basketball over 35 years ago. He was captain of his high school basketball team at Point Loma High in San Diego, California. As captain of the team he helped led the way as they became one of the top 5 defensive teams in the city for 2 years in a row. At San Diego State, where he attended college he loved playing pickup ball at the Aztec Recreation Center. Now in his third season with the MRC Rebels, he finds himself digging deeper everyday trying to master the psychology needed to motivate and inspire young people. Basketball is a game that he has always loved. Phil loves to teach and share information with anyone that desires to reach their full basketball potential.
Mark Gallegos has been coaching girls basketball for ten years. Having played varsity basketball for Rubidoux High School in Riverside, California, he began coaching the Horace Mann Middle School girls basketball team in 2010 where he took over a perennially winless team and took them to within one game of the playoffs in his first season. In 2019 he coached them to their first ever Final Four appearance at Kezar Pavilion. He joined MRC in 2014 and has coached and assisted for every grade level, from fourth grade to high school.
